A California teen is in serious trouble after lying to her family about being kidnapped by sex traffickers all in an attempt to hide to that she was pregnant. Now, law enforcement is asking that her family pay for the hoax.

Christina Almanza, 17, of Suisun City, Calif., left her parents frightening voicemails and texts messages claiming that she and other girls had been abducted by sex traffickers and were locked in a basement. She even went as far as saying one of the girls had been killed.

Her family contacted the police Thursday night and filed a missing person reports with the Solano County Sheriff. An Amber Alert was issued and law enforcement searched for her for two days.

Almanza, the mother a two-year-old, was found unharmed at the home of a man she had been speaking with on social networking sites, and confessed to police Monday. She was arrested on suspicion of filing a false police report, issued a notice to appear in court, and released to her parents.

A friend of Almanza said she made up the elaborate story to hide the fact that she was pregnant for a second time, and to gain sympathy from her family.

Law enforcement officials are now deciding whether or not to make the family pay around $30,000 to cover the cost of the case.
