Was it the five laptop bags that the man had or was it that he was traveling from Mexico to the U.S. in a taxicab? Probably it was both facts that flagged U.S. Customs and Protection (CBP) officers whereby they requested the taxi and its passenger go for further inspection.
The taxicab passenger was identified as a 42-year-old male U.S. citizen from Houston, Texas. While in secondary inspection, five laptop bags were inspected by officers resulting in the discovery and seizure of 11 packages of alleged brown heroin hidden within the laptop bags.
Hector A. Mancha, CBP port director, Hidalgo/Pharr said, “The discovery of brown heroin in laptop bags is quite unique and shows the determination of CBP officers at the Hidalgo port of entry to keep our border safe by seizing these hard narcotics.” Mancha further said, “I commend our frontline officers for a job well done.”
