Veterans of the United States Armed Forces who served under honorable discharge are facing court proceedings for deportations. Hundreds of Veterans are facing deportation and Somos Republicans would like to start by bringing awareness to the situation involving the Valenzuela Brothers. Manuel and Valente Valenzuela are currently awaiting trial and are facing deportation today. Therefore, the group is asking the President of the United States to stop the deportations of all veterans who served under honorable discharge conditions. They believe the President has the power to pardon those who have served our country honorably.
Representatives of Somos Republicans noted:
The mission is to leave “no man behind” and we hope to see President Obama make a symbolic move this year on Veterans Day, November 11, 2011, that will pardon and stop deportations of all immigrant veterans who fought and served our country honorably. It is our goal to gain bipartisan support to stop the unjust deportations of our Veterans. Manuel Valenzuela has given us a humble request for a donation to help pay their way into Washington D.C. as they visit and explain the unjust Veteran deportations that are taking place. He promises to take the least expensive flight from Colorado to D.C.
We believe every American will support all Veterans who have risked their life for this great nation. We also believe the American people will support stopping the deportation of our Veterans who served honorably.
We support the American GI Forum’s recent resolution with regard to immigrant Veteran deportations and we ask our elected officials to investigate the unjust deportations immediately.
Somos Republicans is a national watchdog group and the largest Hispanic Republican grassroots organization and are pro immigration reform.
