During a Senate Appropriations committee meeting Wenesday morning, State Senator Mark Allen proposed a bill (SB 820) which would call for deporting family members of illegal aliens who are incarcerated if those family members are also illegal and collecting public assistance.  During questioning, Allen stated that he knows that this situation is going on in LeFlore County.  When asked by Senator Andrew Rice if he was reporting gossip or fact, Allen stated, “law enforcement has told me illegals are drawing numerous checks.”

Sen. Clark Jolley asked Allen if he would get sworn statements from law enforcement officers who know about such cases and Allen said he would.

Update: The bill passed 9-7, but with two paragraphs removed.  The intent is for Senator Allen to improve the wording of the bill before it goes to the full Senate for a vote.
