Tired of coming back home from endless shifts at the Paranoá Hospital to find her house burglarized, she decided to take home security into her own hands. The Brazilian physician fancied a contaminated syringe fence would work against thieves!
“Fence With Blood. HIV Positive. Stay Away,” reads a sign under several dozen syringes taped to the fence surrounding this Brazilian doctor’s home.
She said in separate occasions, burglars have forced her door, entered her home and taken her lawn mower, her hair dryer, photo camera and also her television set. Neighbors are outraged, and have given her 5 days to remove the syringes, or she’ll be fined by the neighbor’s association.
The doctor said she won’t take them down, and police authorities won’t press the issue, as her fence is her private property, and modifying it does not constitute a crime.
