Border Region Aftershocks Continue into Today

The U.S.-Mexico border is experiencing hundreds of small aftershocks thought to be the result of a Monday night 5.7 magnitude earthquake.  That earthquake is an aftershock of the strong quake that hit the region on Easter Sunday killing two people in Mexico and causing millions of dollars in property damage in California.

Some 400 aftershocks have been recorded since the Easter Sunday quake, the largest have a 4.5 magnitude.  The epicenter of the Monday night quake was just outside of Calexico, California but was felt throughout western Arizona to Mexicali, Mexico.
