The National Safety Commission (CNS) informed the House that the Federal Police has moved into Michoacán more than 2000 Troops. Their goal is to give greater coverage to municipalities with security problems and help restore peace and order in the state. The operational strategy depends largely on agreements generated by the security cabinet, so close coordination with the secretariats of Defense and the Navy is maintained, as well as other authorities of the three levels of government.

Reports show that between December 2012 to October 2013 the strategy returned the following results: 302,000 people were arrested for various offenses, including possession of drugs, firearms and explosives and theft. 94 guns and 707 pounds of marijuana were seized. 72 Plantations were also destroyed 72 and 12 laboratories were dismantled; 133,000 liters of gasoline and fuel oil and 648 vehicles were seized, while 885 others were recovered.
