Two brothers, age 18 and 21, from Timon, Brazil in the state of Maranhao have confessed to killing their allegedly violent and intolerant father as a act of self-preservation.
Which does not fully explain why they drugged him with sleeping pills and then buried him alive, where he died of asphyxiation. The brothers confessed their deed to an uncle who immediately told police.
The police are investigating the real motive to the crime – all parties involved remain unidentified.
The father was a well known Afro-Brazilian religious leader who strongly opposed his sons homosexuality, yet police suspect another motive. They suspect the sons wanted to take over the ‘ceremonial grounds’ where their father worked, hence greed being the motive.
