The Disneyland theme park in Southern California is expanding its celebration of Three Kings Day after the Hispanic community’s enthusiastic response to last year’s event, a spokeswoman told Efe.

“We are very happy to be able to celebrate this tradition again in the Disneyland Resort and in a larger spot to be able to receive more people,” Norma Perez, the park’s public relations manager for Hispanic media outreach, said.

The 2013 edition of Disney’s Three Kings bash begins Friday and will continue through the weekend, she said.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse, decked out in festive Latin American garb, will be accompanied by Hispanic characters such as Jose Carioca, Panchito and Los Tres Caballeros

The entertainment will feature the Grammy-winning Mariachi Divas and other name artists as well as groups from the local community, including the Baile Folclorico Teyacapan, the Mariachi Tesoro and the Mixteco East Los Angeles dance troupe, Perez said.

Visitors can sample typical Three Kings fare such as tamales, buñuelos, chimichangas and Mexican-style hot chocolate.
