Recently convicted U.S. arms dealer, Christian Garza, received a lenient three-year sentence in exchange for providing key details on the vicious Mexican drug cartel Los Zetas, and the U.S. gun dealers supplying them weapons.
As a member of an arms-trafficking group, Garza is well versed on who is buying the weapons and from whom. A recent government report identified Houston as the number one place where Mexican cartels are getting their guns from. Garza was convicted for sending more than 300 military style weapons to Mexico.
Some of the weapons Garza is accused of selling to cartels were found at numerous crime scenes throughout Mexico. Garza has already provided a grand jury in Houston information on local firearms dealers he dealt with and that may be illegally funneling weapons across the border.
