The Ibero-American Coproduction Meeting, part of the Guadalajara International Film Festival just concluded but not before identifying new film talent in Latin America.

This years winners are:  “Buenaventura mon amour” a Colombian production about hip-hop life in one of the country’s dank and stark cities, Buenaventura; “Marakame’s Dream” a Mexican-Italian production won the big cash prize of $120,000 and is presented in the native Huichol language; “Sultan” from Panama and “Carmen” a film dealing with the explosive unemployment rate amongst Spain’s youth.

Since 2005, the Guadalajara International Film Festival set the platform for the Ibero-American Coproduction Meeting in an effort to contribute to the development of the Mexican and Ibero-American film industry. The main goal of the meeting is to bring the projects in development closer to professionals in the industry, financing funds and producers seeking co-productions, as well as buyers and international sales agents.
