Photo: Duchess of Alba married state employee Alfonso Diez
The octogenarian Duchess of Alba finally was able to marry state employee Alfonso Diez at the Las Dueñas Palace in Seville at a high cost to her in terms of money, titles and real estate holdings. Her marriage was blocked by her children who allegedly required her to give up her enormous wealth in order to marry what the family perceived was a gold digger.
Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart, the Duchess of Alba is one of the wealthiest people in Spain; if she was to cross Spain North to South, she could do so without leaving her properties.
She’s 85 years old, but that didn’t stop her from finding and marrying for the third time.
The octogenarian bride wore a short, coral-colored Victorio & Luccino dress with lace detail at the shoulder, a green ribbon around the waist and Pilar Burgos shoes.
The wedding took place this morning in the chapel of one of the Duchess’s palaces, the Dueñas Palace in Seville, amid the controversies related to the couple’s age difference, and the different stations in life between the couple.
