Mexico’s national oil company, PEMEX is announcing that it has rescued seven of the ten oil rig workers that have been missing for three days. PEMEX that is heading the search and rescue mission along with the Mexican Navy also located two bodies in the Gulf of Mexico which it has not identified.
The ten men were employees of Houston-based Geokinetics who were working on a rig and sought refuge on a life raft when Tropical Storm Nate approached the area. The missing ten included American, Mexican and Kazakhstan nationals.
The survivors have been identified as two Americans and the rest as Mexican nationals. Two Americans remain missing and the search will continue for them. Mexican authorities have not released the condition of the survivors or where they were found.
