Five people were fatally shot Friday in a suburb of the Mexican capital, El Universal newspaper said, citing unnamed official sources.
The victims - four men and a woman - were surrounded by assailants, forced to kneel and then shot, members of the Coacalco municipal police department told the daily.
The bodies were found in a park, surrounded by shell casings from an AK-47 assault rifle and a .9 mm handgun, the sources said.
Though part of the Federal District metropolitan area, Coacalco lies within the central state of Mexico.
The multiple-murder is under investigation, sources in the Mexico state Attorney General’s Office said.
