The government of the state of Nuevo Leon is announcing the arrest of five suspects in the firebombing of the Casino Royale in Monterrey, Mexico.  The police have yet to site a motive and continue to search for other suspects.

Some reports say Mexican authorities are looking into the idea that the failure to pay extortion money was behind the tragedy that left 53 dead and many others injured.  The country just finished three days of national mourning for the deadliest attack since President Felipe Calderon starting his offensive against the country’s drug cartel in 2006.

Nuevo Leon’s Governor Rodrigo Medina has assured the public that they remain safe and that the capture and arrest of all suspects is a priority.  Regardless, the U.S. Consulate has issued an emergency warning message to U.S. citizens urging them to stay out of casinos and nightclubs.
