The Royal Caribbean cruise line is faced with another mysterious death in less than five days.
Yesterday, a 24 –year old tourist died at a local hospital in Cozumel from internal bleeding after eating a safety pin that damaged her organs. It is not known if this was an intentional, accidental or criminal act. She had been a passenger on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship currently docked in Cozumel, Mexico
Just this past Saturday, this same cruise line experienced its first brush with death when cruise musician, Monika Markiewicz’ body was found floating in the waters near Cozumel. Markiewicz was working on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Allure of the Sea when she disembarked as the ship was docked in Cozumel.
Foul play is feared in Markiewicz death since she apparently suffered a blow to her head and was drowned. All this is bad news for the cruise business in Mexico, when different cruise operators are reviewing their business in the country in light of growing violence.
