One million New Year partiers in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at the Copacabana Beach were given an extra treat just before they rung in the New Year at midnight – the unveiling of the 2016 Olympic game logo.
A national and international panel organizing the 2016 games made the final decision. More than 140 organizations had vied for the honor and only eight made it to the final judging phase.
The symbol is flowing embraced arms colored orange, green and blue. The logo is said to reflect the city’s culture , the country’s natural wonders and the joyful disposition of all Brazilians.
Brazil won the right to host the games back in 2009 beating Madrid, Tokyo and Chicago.
