A grandson of Spain’s King Juan Carlos was taken to a Madrid clinic after he accidentally shot himself in the right foot with a shotgun at the family residence in Soria, the Royal Palace said.
Felipe Juan Froilan, the son of Princess Elena and Jaime de Marichalar, “has suffered an accident while practicing shooting at the family ranch in Soria,” the Royal Palace said.
The 13-year-old boy was “in the yard of the house, accompanied by his father, when a shotgun went off,” causing “a wound in the right foot,” the Royal Palace said.
The boy received first aid at Soria’s Santa Barbara Hospital and was then taken to Madrid, “where a surgical cleaning of the wound has been done,” the Royal Palace said.
The name of the Madrid clinic where Felipe Juan spent the night was not released by the Royal Palace.
