11 Latin American nations now stand behind an international agreement that calls for a ban on hunting the enormous sea mammals.
Delegates of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Uruguay signed the agreement in Buenos Aires, during a meeting to prepare for the annual International Whaling Commission conference in July in The UK.
This agreement would only allow for controlled hunting, strictly for scientific and research purposes and performed without killing the mammals.
