Pitbull and Baby Mama Settle Child Support Issues Amicably

According to court documents, Barbara Alba (to whom the singer dated when he was known as Armando Pérez) filed a paternity lawsuit on behalf of her 9 year old daughter with the artist.  Previously Pitbull had an out-of-court arrangement where he was paying $3,000 for his daughter.

The settlement granted Alba and the girl an undisclosed monthly increase on the $3,000 that Pitbull had been paying.  An exact amount of child support was not disclosed but opposing counsel representing Alba called the South Beach rapper a ‘gentleman’ so you can only assume it was generous.

An inside source told Gossip Extra that Alba sought the increase in funds to support the young girl’s transfer to a private school.

The lawsuit was resolved in good terms, according to both parties.

HispanTV will cover news in Iran though news dissemination is limited to most Iranians and it is government controlled.  The news channel will offer talk shows, movie reviews and cultural insight into Iran.  The main TV station will be in Iran with satellite offices in Spain and throughout Latin America.  The signal will be strong enough to reach most of Latin America and Brazil.

Iran enjoys close relations with the governments of Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia and considered President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela one of his closest allies.

HispanTV aims to be a 24/7 news provider by 2012 much like Al Jazeera is.  It hopes also to be able to produce movies and documentaries with the Iranian point of view.

Costa Rican mother Kattia Sanchez Liebers never gave up hope that she would see her missing son again.  She never changed her name when she married so Jared could find her.  She kept his pictures, toys and mementos of their life together that was cut short when her estranged husband took him, Jared’s father.

Jared was only five years old when he was taken during a bitter custody dispute that played out in Costa Rica.  Then it all changed with a Facebook question posed to Kattia:  “ Hi is this Kattia Chacon Sanchez by any chance?”

She quickly replied “Who is this?” and then what she had been waiting for happened at the brush of a keystroke.  “I’m Jared Liebers” and Kattia replied, “If you’re Jared Liebers, I’m your mom, and I love you very much.”

After the Facebook reunion mother and son got to know each other over the last two months.  Yesterday, mother and son, now 17 years old, were reunited when Jared left Israel where he had been living with his father the last ten years.  Jared had with him a book of Spanish words his mother gave him before he was taken.

When they saw each other Jared wept knowing right away about “our connection” feeling the love of a mother for the first time.  He will now live with his mother who relocated to Pennsylvania and attend a local high school.

TMZ says the pair had a romantic dinner at the trendy “Per Se” in New York City, Friday. People.com, says it was just business.  Other observers say the 42 year-old Latina super star and “Hangover” actor Bradley Cooper were very cozy with each other at this trendy restaurant in The Big Apple

News that JLo is decidedly moving on from ex-husband Marc Anthony, have spread like fireworks and reports are always linking her with many potential love interests.

Some sources say it was more work related than cozy, and that Cooper and JLo were merely chatting about possibly remaking the 1987 romantic comedy “Overboard,” starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn.

Could there be sparks between these two?

Early Lead for Ex-General in Guatemala Presidential Election, Issue of Security on Everyone’s Mind

Early Lead for Ex-General in Guatemala Presidential Election, Issue of Security on Everyone’s Mind

Guatemalans apparently voted their sense of national insecurity due to narco traffickers and violent gangs when they went to the polls this weekend to elect a new President.

The ex-general Otto Perez Molina has taken the early lead in Sunday’s election.  Perez Molina’s mantra of ‘mano duro’ or a firm hand against crime and criminals, obviously worked for him.  If he obtains an outright majority he can avoid a runoff.  Only 5% of the votes have been counted thus far.

Many of the nine presidential candidates made crime an issue of their campaigns.  Early vote counts show Molina has 37% of the vote with Congressman Manuel Baldizon coming in second.  Perez Molina is a former military officer that fought in the country’s 35 year-old civil war.  He ran unsuccessfully for office in 2007.

Many in Guatemala feel under siege from the growing power and presence of Mexico narco traffickers, spilling over the border both countries share.  In addition many citizens are victims of random violent crime and extortion.
