Colombian Drug Lord Pablo Escobar Was Born in 1949

Today in Latin American history, Colombian drug lord and and narcoterrorist Pablo Escobar who was head of the Medellín Cartel was born in 1949.
At the height of his power, Escobar had a net worth of US$3 billion and his Medellín cartel controlled 80% of the global cocaine market.
Escobar was killed while attempting to evade police in 1993.
