Brazil’s Father of Football Charles William Miller Born in 1874
Today in Latin American history, Brazilian Charles William Miller who introduced Brazil to the sport of football (soccer) was born in 1874. He is known as the father of Brazilian football.
Miller was born in Brazil but moved to England at the age of 10 to continue his schooling. Upon finishing his education, he returned to Brazil with two footballs where he set up the São Paulo Athletic Club (SPAC) and the first football league in Brazil.
