Today in Latin American history, Avianca Flight 203, exploded in mid-air over Colombia, 107 people were killed on board as well as 3 on the ground in 1989.
The Medellín Cartel claimed responsibility for the attack, Pablo Escobar planned the bombing, hoping it would kill presidential candidate for the 1990 elections César Gaviria Trujillo.
