Protest Sign Interrupts Diamondback-Reds Game
Wednesday, a young man and woman delayed the Cincinnati Reds’ game against Arizona by draping a sign over the center field fence in the 3rd and 5th innings.
The sign was protesting Arizona’s SB1070, an anti-illegal immigration law. The sign had “Not in Arizona, Not in Ohio” in large black letters with SB1070 circled and with a diagonal line through it.
The couple was told to remove the sign by an usher, who then carried it away. The couple left a few minutes later. They were likely a part of the Move the Game campaign that is has petitioned for Commissioner Bud Selig to move the 2011 All-Star game from Arizona, and has said they will protest every Diamondback game until Selig agrees to “move the game”.
