Immigration Prosecutions out number Drug Trafficking 4:1
The Federal Government ‘s record of all prosecutions since President Obama took office shows 52 percent were for immigration violations.
“The most frequently cited lead charge was Title 8 U.S.C Section 1325 involving “Entry of alien at improper time or place”…[and Section] 1326 Reentry of deported alien” as reported Syracuse University TRAC.
The Federal Governments emphasis on immigration violations pales to that of more violent crimes, for example, drug trafficking was only 12 percent and all other violent crimes came in at 36 percent.
The Department of Homeland Security is responsible for prosecuting 99 percent of the immigration cases. Since 2005, this is a 162 percent increase in prosecution of immigration related cases.
