Today in 1989 popular Bachata singer Prince Royce was born in the Bronx, as Geoffrey Royce Rojas. Royce came out of the gate strong with a debut album in 2010 that immediately went number one on Billboard Latin Albums. And every album since then has been a hit for this tireless Taurus.
Royce’ fourth album “Double Vision” was his first in English that included musical duos with Snoop Doog, Jennifer Lopez and Pitbill – that album also became a winner on Billboard. The Dominican-American singer will be going on a 21-city tour this summer to promote his firth album “Five”.
The singer has been nominated for 3 Latin Grammys and has won eleven Latin Billboard Awards and in 2011 won Latin Artist of the Year. He is credited with taking bachata, a Dominican style of music and dance, to new heights.
