Today in 1944 the actor Danny Trejo was born in Los Angeles, with a face some would say only a mother would love yet it has launched an impressive acting career. His film resume includes hits likes Con Air, Spy Kids and the Machete franchise. It was the first Machete film in 2010 that made Trejo a Hollywood star at the ripe age of 66. Trejo has often collaborated with his good friend and second cousin, director Robert Rodriguez.
Early life was hard on Trejo who has an extensive prison record with stints in San Quentin and Folsom, he is also a recovering drug addict. Acting was his rebirth and a career that started later in life at age 40. Trejo started as an extra and moved on to character roles often portraying the bad guy.
The hard-working Taurus has taken his film success and became a brand ambassador for Snickers, TV actor and appearances in music videos. Most recently this prolific talent appeared on Hell’s Kitchen.
The Mexican-American actor is never without a project but when he does have time off he visits one of his eating establishments.
