Today in 1967 actor Benicio del Toro was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico with the given name of Benicio Monserrate Rafael Del Toro Sanchez. This Pisces started his career making TV appearances until finding his groove in movies – one of his first roles was starring as a villain in the Bond movie License to Kill. During the 1990s he was in a movie every year from The Indian Runner to The Usual Suspects to Basquiat.
Del Toro though came known to mainstream audiences playing a Mexican cop in the award winning Traffic in 2000. He won an Oscar, BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild and Golden Gold for his portrayal of Javier Rodriguez. Del Toro was also recognized for his work in 21 Grams in 2003.
Known for his dreamy eyes and mysterious smile, this Puerto Rican actor has been recognized by People’s as one of the “50 Most Beautiful People”. Meanwhile Benicio fans are anxiously waiting for Sicario’s sequel Soldado co-starring Josh Brolin and Isabela Moner.
