Today in 1930 the handsome actor Alejandro Rey was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Rey was a well- known Argentine actor when at 32-years of age he decided to try his luck in Hollywood. Like a true Aquarian he embraced change and followed the path of most Aquarian water-bearers who seek to re-invent themselves.
The handsome actor with the charming accent soon found a home on TV. He made many guest appearances in 1960-70s iconic TV shows like Perry Mason, Daniel Boone and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.
Rey, however, was born to play Carlos Ramirez the casino owner with a golden heart in The Flying Nun opposite Sally Field from 1967-70. Carlos Ramirez in spite of his many female adventures always had a soft spot for Sister Bertrille and the convents non-ending needs. Rey also appeared in 50 movies, including Fun in Acapulco with Elvis Presley.
The versatile actor in the later phase of his career turned to directing TV episodes and died at age 57 from lung cancer leaving behind a son.
