New Spanish-speaking Career Scholarship Announced

Metaphrasis Language and Cultural Solutions (Metaphrasis), a leading Chicago-based language services company today announced their medical interpreting scholarship program is now open for applicants.
Responding to the growing demand for qualified medical interpreters and its commitment to giving back to the community Metaphrasis created this scholarship opportunity to help create jobs for those who are bi-lingual and seeking a new career opportunity. The scholarship is offered to individuals who are interested in seeking a career in medical interpreting and who would like to participate in the Metaphrasis Medical Interpreter Training course.
In order to help these individuals start a new career path, Metaphrasis has chosen to provide this scholarship to individuals who may be experiencing financial hardship. The medical interpreter scholarship promotes and advances the field of medical interpreting in the Chicago land area. One individual will be awarded a full scholarship to attend the 48-hour medical interpreter course each time training is offered.

The recipient of the scholarship will be awarded the following:
• Full paid tuition for the 48-hour Medical Interpreter Training program
• Classroom books and materials
• 40-hour professional internship
Metaphrasis also requires a six-month commitment following the training in order to allow scholarship recipients real-world access and integration into the medical interpreting field. This six-month period includes a 40-hour internship is required to gain experience and learn the business. After the training and internship period is complete, Metaphrasis will also consider scholarship recipients for hire.
