Latino and Latina High School juniors across America applied to Youth Awards program, offered and presented by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) for the 14th year.

The 2011 nominees have been chosen and together with Actress and 2011 Inspira Recipient, America Ferrera, the official 2011 Youth Awards spokesperson, they will become part of a national campaign aimed at recognizing, promoting, and preparing Latino and Latina leaders.

Recipients were selected for their accomplishments in their schools, communities, and for the unwavering dedication they have displayed in one of the six categories. In addition, recipients will be awarded educational grants for college, and will be invited to serve as role models for younger peers through other HHF initiatives/programs aimed at encouraging Latinos to excel.
