Allstate Field consists of a 207-acre artificial turf that allows use for play at least nine months out of the year The new field also includes a new lighting system, which will increase playing time and more programming in the neighborhood.
This new field was the result of a public and private venture called “Take the Field” which will bring 10 public athletic fields throughout the city. Over the next three years more public artificial turf parks will be open, this weekend three were open including the one in Humboldt Park.
Allstate Field is located at 1400 N. Sacramento Avenue on the northwest side of the city.
