Rapper Kid Cudi has announced the official title for his third studio album.
Like many stars making announcements these days, Cudi,28, (born Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi) took to Twitter saying, “My new album in entitled “indicud”, it will be my version of The Chronic 2011, some songs ill (sic) produce, others ill (sic) feat &/or play songwriter.”
No release date has been set, though many expect indicud – previously referred to as Man on the Moon III – to be released in 2012.
In 2009, Cudi, or KiD CuDi as it’s often stylized, released Man on the Moon: The End of Day, followed by Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager in 2010. Earlier this year, Cudi and rapper Dot da Genius teamed up as WZRD and released a self-titled album.
Teaming up with Patrick “Plain Pat” Reynolds and Emile Haynie, Cudi created the Dream On record label, partnering with Universal Motown and Kanye West’s GOOD Music.
Kid Cudi grew up in Cleveland, Ohio’s Shaker Heights and Solon neighborhood. His father, who sadly passed away due to cancer when Cudi was just 11, was a Mexican-Native American who fought in the Air Force in World War II before becoming a house painter and substitute teacher. The alternative rapper’s mother is African-American and works as a middle-school choir teacher at Roxboro Middle School in Cleveland Heights. Cudi also has a daughter, Vada Wamwene Mescudi, who was born on March 26, 2010.
