Reymundo Carlos Escobedo and John Martin Silvera of Santa Maria, California have been arrested for narcotics trafficking after sending a text message to a local police officer by mistake.

Escobedo sent a message to a local narcotics officer in Santa Maria about drug transactions thinking he had a buyer at the other end.

Escobedo sent a text message this past Tuesday trying to set up a sale and the officer went with the flow and got the Sheriff involved to set up the sting.  When Escobedo showed up he tried to complete the sale of two grams of meth.  Escobedo then was joined by his supplier Silvera who had seven grams of meth on him.

Both men were booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on $30,000 bail.
