Chantelle Serginson remains in the hospital after she fell from a balcony while vacationing in Spain.

Chantelle and her mother Kimberley had reportedly been arguing in their room at the Hotel Marina Barracuda in Majorca not long before the 24-year-old lost her balance while attempting to remove a spider from her suitcase.

The Middlesborough, UK woman fractured her skull, lost a number of teeth, and broke her legs in multiple places when she fell six stories from their hotel room balcony.

The Serginson family has seen its share of tragedy. In 1999, Chantelle’s 7-year-old sister died as a result of a brain tumor and in 2006, she watched as a man slashed her mother’s throat.

However, it appears this story may have a happy ending, as Kimberley told reporters her daughter is making a “brilliant recovery” and is already “talking and everything.”

Chantelle’s fall is only the latest in a list of Brits falling from hotels at the Spanish resort area of Magaluf, Majorca recently.

In the last six weeks, three Brits have fallen to their deaths in Magaluf. Luckily, Chantelle was not the fourth.
