A Brazilian man is rather embarrassed after local newspapers picked up the story of him painting himself green to look like the Hulk only to realize he could not get it off.

Enrique dos Santos, 35, was trying to look like the big green comic book/movie character when he used the heavy-duty paint used on ballistic missiles and nuclear submarines.

After he’d had his fun, dos Santos hopped in the shower to rinse the paint off. It was then that he realized it was not coming off. The paint had stained his skin and a quick shower was not going to get it off.

His story quickly spread and local media mistakenly reported the woman seen in photos helping him scrub was his girlfriend, when in fact it was his mother.

The Sun reports that after friends and family spent more than 24 hours scrubbing dos Santos’ skin, the stain finally started to come off.
