We do believe Rodrigo Ulloa-Esquivel of El Paso, Texas was trying to do the right thing back in April, 2011 when he burned his soiled toilet paper. 

How could he know that high winds from the burnt toilet paper would send sparks that would eventually burn more than 53,000 acres of the beautiful Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico.

Ulloa-Esquivel claims he did not want to leave his litter behind thus started the toilet paper fire, though initially denying the deadly deed.  He was found guilty of a misdemeanor in October, 2011.  He was sentenced to five years of probation and mandated to complete 200 hours of community service.

But now the 30—year-old Latino is facing a $2.7 Million fine for restitution of the nearly 83 square miles that burned down.
