One of the two Cuban actors who disappeared after arriving in the U.S. to present their film at the Tribeca Film Festival won the fesitval’s top acting award.

Javier Nunez Florian and Anailin de la Rua de la Torre starred in the “Una Noche”, a film about defecting to the United States from Cuba. Whether it was art imitating life or life imitating art, Javier and Analin both disappeared shortly after arriving at the Miami airport for Tribeca.

Though Javier was not present at Tribeca to receive it, he shared the festival’s best actor award with co-star Dariel Arrechada who was present. “Una Noche” also won the awards for Best New Narrative Director and Best Cinematography.
