The car bomb that exploded outside the building of the Attorney General of Tamaulipas in Nuevo Laredo was a demonstration of power asserted by the leader of the Sinaloa cartel, Joaquin Guzman Loera better known as El Chapo Guzman. His desire was to defy local authorities and confirm his cartels presence in the border city and their desire to exterminate the Zetas.
