Tiago Klimeck died on Sunday after spending over two weeks in a medically induced coma due to major brain injuries from a lack of oxygen after accidentally hanging himself during “The Passion of the Christ” on Good Friday. 

Kilimeck was taken to the Hospital Santa Casa de Misericordia after the incident, where he was declared dead this Sunday.

During the play, Klimeck was given a harness to wear under is robe and according to police investigator Jose Victor Bassetti that this was usually done for the actor playing Judas and that Klimeck was able to go unsupervised because he knew how to use the equipment. It is not clear what happened to cause the accident.
