At least seven people were killed and 10 others injured when a public transit bus collided with a truck over the weekend on a highway in the Colombian Caribbean province of Bolivar, police said.
The accident happened Sunday in San Juan Nepomuceno, a rural area in central Bolivar, police chief Col. Hugo Casas said.
The bus driver apparently cut into the truck’s lane at a high rate of speed, Casas told reporters in Cartagena, the capital of Bolivar.
The seven people killed in the accident were all riding in the bus, the police chief said.
The bus was traveling from El Carmen de Bolivar, a town in Bolivar, to Barranquilla, the capital of neighboring Atlantico province.
