When a Colorado man learned his son had stolen money from a cousin he wanted to teach the by a lesson.
Joseph Gonzales of Denver, CO wanted his son to learn that there are consequences to every action, so when he learned he had taken $100 from his cousin he presented one heck of a consequence.
For his thievery, 12-year-old Jose was forced to stand on a street corner holding a bright yellow sign telling anyone who passed of his actions.
The sign read:

I AM A THIEF
I took money from a family member
Don’t give me money

Wednesday, Jose stood on the corner outside of his father’s pawn shop for hours before being allowed to go home, but the very next day he was told to go stand on the corner once again.
Jose’s father told the Denver Post that Jose is ‘a good kid,’ adding, ‘This is the first time he’s done something like this. I hope it will be the last.’
The father said he gave his son a choice: hold the sign or go to jail.
It’s clear which he chose.
