Two Hispanic men believed to be involved in the fatal stabbing of a North Carolina girl have been arrested, and prosecutors say the victim was stabbed 30 times.
Gabriel Alejandro Maricio Lopez, 20, and Alejanero Prada Sanchez, 19, have been arrested in connection to the murder of 15-year-old Patricia Perez-Godinez, whose body was seen floating in Jordan Lake by a fisherman Saturday morning.
She had last been seen Thursday night. Her family reported her missing after Friday evening. Lopez and Sanchez were arrested Sunday.
It is believed that Sanchez, Perez-Godinez’s boyfriend, stabbed her after an argument while at the lake, and that Lopez was a witness.
The two men have each been charged with 1st degree murder and were denied bail. Their next court date is set for August 24th.
Monday, the Perez-Godinez ‘s family gathered for a private memorial at her home in Fuquay-Varina, NC. She would have been a freshman at Fuquay-Varina High School this fall.
