The leader of the Sinaloa cartel, Joaquin Guzman Loera, alias El Chapo, openly challenged the criminal group Los Zetas, especially their leaders, Heriberto Lazcano aka The Lazca, Miguel Angel Trevino Morales aka Z 40 and his brother Omar Trevino. The Sinaloa Cartel attacked members of the Los Zetas drug cartel after they ventured into Tamaulipas which the Sinoloa Cartel sees as their turf and dismembered several members of the organization.
