At just 12 years old, a Brazilian girl nicknamed Rapunzel does not just have long hair, she has LONG hair.
Though Natasha Moraes de Andrade is just 5 feet, 4 inches tall, her hair is 5 feet, 2 inches long, making her hair just two inches shorter than her body.
But Natasha says she’s ready to say goodbye to her impressively long locks, as the $600-a-year shampoo cost and the hour and half it takes just to brush it have become too much. Her family is even afraid to turn fans on in their home for fear that her hair will get caught.
The preteen told The Sun, “I love my long hair and I’ll be sad when it’s gone. But it’s a pain looking after it. I can’t do a lot of things, like P.E. lessons at school.”
She’s not just going to chop it off and throw it in the trash however. Natasha says she would like to sell it for about $5,000.
Natasha lives with her family in the favelas of Rio de Janiero and says that while she hopes to refurbish her room, she also wants to use the money to help her family out of poverty.
