After receiving an Oscar nomination this year for his work in “A Better Life,” the Mexican actor, Demian Bichir will appear again in the Oliver Stone film “Savages” with the well known Mexican actress, Salma Hayek.  In the film, Bichir will portray ‘Alex’ a lawyer of a powerful Mexican drug cartel, led by Hayek.  In addition to Hayek, Bichir will also share the screen with actors Benicio del Toro, Aaron Johnson, and Taylor Kitsch. 

“I hope it does well.  I’m sure it will raise some controversy as many Oliver Stone films are known to do and will also have some possible upcoming nominations,” expressed Bichir about the upcoming film.

After his recent Oscar nomination, Bichir has enjoyed an increase in potential projects, noting that he now has more American scripts on his desk than Mexican ones.  This is a change for Bichir as much of his early acting success came from Mexican films.
