Authorities were called to a California mobile home park after a woman was killed and man was injured when he fired a cannonball into a home.

The unidentified man reportedly told police that he ignited the makeshift cannon, firing the cannonball in Potrero, CA. Though he was injured by the firing, a woman said to be his wife was killed after the cannonball slammed in through the side of the mobile home.

Other reports state that the husband was with another man and they were working on the cannon when it fired.

The woman’s body was find at around 12:15 a.m. at the Twin Lakes Resort mobile home park, sheriff’s Sgt. David Martinez told UT San Diego

It was also reported that at the time of the incident, the now-deceased woman, her 4-year-old child, and possibly more people were inside though no one else was injured.

The man was take to the hospital with leg injuries, and homicide detectives are still investigating the death of the woman, indentified only as being 33 years old.
