Businesses operating in the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) and 009th District (Deering) should be aware of recent armed robberies of fast food delivery drivers.

Offenders place an “order” via a cell phone for food. Delivery drivers are robbed by unknown offenders upon arrival. Area One Detectives have determined that these cell phone numbers (773-412-7771, 773-556-0419, 773-430-0708)  has been used to place orders. 

Incident times and locations are listed below.

6800 Block of South Campbell Av. on October 30, 2011 at approximately 9:00 PM.

6700 Block of South Campbell Av. on November 5, 2011, at approximately 3:44 AM.

6800 Block of South Campbell Av. on February 26, 2012 at approximately 5:58 PM.

Orders are placed from businesses within the 008th and 009th Districts.

About the Offenders:

1-3 Male/Black offenders approximately 19-25 years of age, 5’8”-5’11”, 150-160 lbs.

What you can do:

Instruct driver (s) not to exit their vehicle until they make visual contact with customer. Business owners should always request customers to leave their porch/vestibule lights illuminated for the driver. If upon arrival driver determines location is vacant/abandoned leave immediately. Be suspicious if the caller indicates change for large currency denomination is needed. Have drivers re-contact the customer upon arrival.

Immediately report suspicious calls or activity to 9-1-1.
