Armed with just a light bulb, police say a Latino man attempted to rob a San Diego gas station on Monday.

At around 11 p.m. Monday night the attendant at the Washington Street Shell Station was met by an unidentified man brandishing a compact fluorescent light bulb. The would-be robber then smashed the bulb on the counter and demanded money.

Though it is not certain what the clerk was thinking, he denied the bulb-wielding man any money, and frustrated, the criminal ran away.

The suspect has been described at a Latino male approximately 30 years old, standing about 5’10.

Well this suspect wasn’t exactly the brightest bulb, now was he?
