Authorities on Wednesday confirmed that Hector Guajardo Hernandez, aka El Huicho, who was interned in a hospital in Mexico City has gone missing along with two elements of the Mexican Federal Bureau of Investigation who were guarding him.
The Huicho was captured May 9 in Baja California . He is considered to be the head of the Sinaloa cartel operating in that area. He has been called the heir of the cell formed by Teodoro Garcia Simental, known as El Teo.
Medical reports are that Huicho was in the hospital recovering from a gunshot he suffered on the day her was captured.
To date, the whereabouts of the drug trafficker and the two agents, remain unknown. Authorities are searching for the men.
